For me, "senses shut down" was him going to sleep, and then waking up as a different .... being. I had a little epilogue planned out for this, but I feel like this story is just fine without one :3 I think it's best for everyone to think of whatever they want, because ultimately, what ended was sort of a happy ending OTL
